The Complete Guide to Overcoming Internet Addiction

Internet addiction is real, and many people suffer from it. Today I will show you how I overcame it and how you can too!

Time to talk about something serious: the Internet.

I spent the majority of my young adult life online (teenage years were spent on gaming). If I told you how much time I spend sitting in front of the screen, you would be wondering how it’s possible for someone to sit that long.

If you think that you have a problem because you spend 1-2 hours on facebook every day, try being on the Web for 60-80 hours a week.

Internet addiction is real, and many people suffer from it.

Including me.

Luckily, over the last year, I made some tremendous progress and today I want to share with you how I overcame this vicious addiction and how you can too! Continue reading “The Complete Guide to Overcoming Internet Addiction”

The 4 Core Principles of Kaizen

What is Kaizen and what are the core principles behind it? Time to find it out, once and for all.

Much has been said about Kaizen in the last decade.

You’ve probably heard about it before and wondered what the hype is all about.

Maybe you’re working in a company that uses it as its main business philosophy, or you read the articles about it on Lifehacker, Art of Manliness, or any other generic self-improvement blog.

Whatever it is, I’m sure that most of the time you’ve heard it being used in the context of “continuous improvement” and “making small changes”. Sometimes it’s even described as a “Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement“.

There’s a lot of confusion around it.

So, let’s clear it up, once and for all. Continue reading “The 4 Core Principles of Kaizen”

Welcome to Reality: The Truth about Self-Help

Do you cringe when you hear “self-help”, “warrior mindset” or “path of change”? Well, you’re not alone!

Yesterday I read something interesting on one of our members blogs. He wrote about the feeling he gets when reading about self-help.

“I’m overly cynical. I think self-help books are dumb. I hate phrases like “Warrior Mindset” or “Path of Change”. I criticize these thing from my soggy little ditch, not understanding the idea that change, regardless of the method, can only come about if I allow it.”

Self-help is dumb, and the terms they use are cringy.

And let me tell you something. I completely agree with him. Continue reading “Welcome to Reality: The Truth about Self-Help”

30 Days of Kaizen: Become a Warrior of Change

Breaking the old by building new habits that will improve your life.

Today I’m starting a challenge that I designed for myself and our community. And since today is Day 1 of the challenge, I want to introduce you to it and talk about why I designed it the way I did.

The Challenge

The challenge consists of:

  • Breaking 3 habits
  • Building 6 habits
  • Daily journaling

I choose these tasks so that they represent everything our community is about: Breaking the old by building new habits that will improve our life. And I included journaling because I see it as the best tool to track progress and learn about yourself. Continue reading “30 Days of Kaizen: Become a Warrior of Change”

The 3 Switches to Making a Change

It’s hard to make a change in our lifestyle or behavior, but what’s even harder is moving others to make a change in THEIR life. What can we do to make it easier?

Change is difficult. We all know it.

It’s hard to make a change in our lifestyle or behavior, but what’s even harder is moving others to make a change in THEIR life. Maybe you want your company to adopt a change that will improve the company’s workflow, or you want to help your friend lose fat or stop drinking alcohol.

Whatever it is, more often than not, these people seem resistant to change, lazy and sometimes too stubborn to make anything happen.

Why is it like that? Continue reading “The 3 Switches to Making a Change”

How to make the Switch to the Warrior Mindset

Exactly 1 year ago I was in a very bad place. I was 23 and in my last year of college with a half-complete bachelor thesis and the inability to finish it because of my problem with procrastination. I felt depressed, anxious and utterly lost.

Exactly 1 year ago I was in a very bad place.

How to Ignite the Eternal Flame Within You

I’m not a huge fan of long motivational speeches and seminars. They are only good for a while and the motivation only lasts for a couple moments. But, I was not always like that.
